Intention
When discussing licences I think it is valuable to express the intent of the licence in plain English.
The intention of the General Licence of usage, is to allow people to use the Cyber Visors in a non commercial setting for their own entertainment.
I reserve the right to withdraw the code base of the Cyber Visors at any time, and of course I keep the copyright on any of the code I develop for the Cyber Visors.
If people contribute to the project with plugins or design elements then they do so by including their own terms and conditions of use.
I develop websites commercially, so the Cyber Visors may find their way into commercial offerings, but if they do so I should have been involved in the process and the terms and conditions of the contributors should also have been adhered to, if their code is included in the solution.
If you wish to run Cyber Visors yourself, i.e. on your own server, in a non commercial manner, then please get in contact. I am most likely going to agree, as one of the more interesting features of the Cyber Visors is the ability to create a more personal web experience, where you and your mates can comment on sites without involving the sites directly with your comments.
Governmental organisations, health services, law enforcement and military are considered as commercial entities.
The software is free to use for non commercial activity, and as such I don't wish to take any liability for usage so I won't be taking any liability for usage. That also extends to the data retention of comments, these are not guaranteed to be kept in anyway.
The hope is some developers like the idea, get in contact and start contributing some plugins. These developers or others then move the Cyber Visors to their own servers, after getting permission, and people use the Cyber Visors in their own social groups.
If a commercial entities wish to get involved, then those who have contributed have an opportunity to get financial recompense for their work.
